Flying Trapeze Adventures is located in north Sairee. The entrance is directly opposite Silver Sands Resort and right next to New Heaven Cafe.
In your first FTA lesson you will learn how to execute a 'knee hang catch'. After a demonstration on the ground with a practice bar, you'll be secured into a safety belt, up the ladder you climb, and safety lines attached! Once on the pedestal a professionally trained FTA instructor will prepare you to 'fly, off you jump and away you go towards mastering the 'knee hang' by hooking your knees up across the bar, releasing your hands underneath you and stretching out to the 'catcher's' bar, then back to a straight position you'll safely let go and fall down into the safety net. Practice makes perfect so you will try this again, this time adding a back flip dismount down to the net! Now comes the most exciting part of your experience! IF you have been able to successfully 'assume the position' within the correct timing, a 'catcher' will climb into the 'catch trap' and as you perform your 'knee hang' this time when you reach out, you'll be 'caught' mid air and swing on through with the second trapeze. Our instructors have come from all over the world, each varying in different backgrounds. Our aim is to employ instructors with skills in acrobatics, gymnastics and performance. Each instructor is fully trained to run and operate a trapeze rig and all have completed EFR courses. Our flying trapeze lessons are designed for all types of people. No previous experience is needed, only the strength to let go. Ages 6 and up are welcome. Safety is very important to us. Our standard of or equipment reaches far beyond all safety requirements. It is constantly maintained by our well trained staff. All flyers are spotted from the ground whilst wearing safe comfortable belts to ensure safety in the air. Our soft, flexible net will assure a safe landing. As with any sporting activity scraps and bruises do happen. Please ensure that you do notify us of anything health conditions that could affect your safe performance on the trapeze. The pedestal from where you will be flying from is 25ft (7.62m) above the ground. A flying trapeze lesson is an hour long. There will be a maximum of 8 students per lesson. There are 10 lessons a day, running every hour from 1pm till 9 pm. Comfortable clothes that are not to baggy are recommended. Long sleeves and trousers are suggested as they protect knees and elbows from the net. T-shirts must be worn and long hair should be tied back. No jewelry is allowed. Avoid applying sun cream on your arms and hands before class. For any inquiries and reservations call 080 69 69 2 69 or 080 675 9453 or email gemma@flyingtrapezeadventures.com Yes, you do have to sign a waiver. This must be done before the trapeze lesson.
